Garnet Valley School District to Adopt Final Budget for 2022-2023 School Year

On June 13, 2022 the Garnet Valley School Board approved the 2022-2023 final general fund budget totaling $118,639,405, an increase of $2,544,716 (2.19%) in expenditures over the current year.  The final budget requires a property tax millage rate of 18.6866 (Bethel: 18.8953) mills, an increase of 1.33% over the current year. A property assessed at $300,000 in Chester Heights or Concord would incur tax of $5,605.98, a property assessed at $300,000 in Bethel would incur tax of $5,668.59. The final budget is under the District’s Act I Index of 3.40%.

The 2022-23 budget also includes expenses for the implementation of full day kindergarten beginning this September. The District is able to keep the tax increase minimal by utilizing $500,000 in reserves committed to stabilizing future real estate tax increases. These committed funds were available due to savings in prior years as a result of decreased operations due to Covid-19. The School Board, as well as District Administration, stay committed to providing a top-notch educational atmosphere for our students while, at the same time, limiting the tax burden faced by district residents.

The 2022-2023 final budget, in PDE format (PDE-2028), is available on the District’s website. The document can also be reviewed at the Garnet Valley District Administration Office, 80 Station Road, Glen Mills, PA; contact Patricia Sharp at 610-579-7374 to make arrangements.
